Why Caleb was early part 1

The story...YES I am finally writing it!

Week 35.5-
Started having contractions 2-8 mins apart, my doctor put me on anti-contraction medication and said to take it easy. He told me just make it a week and a half and then he will be OK to let the baby come on the baby schedule.

Week 36-
Stopped taking meds because they were not slowing the contractions. Bed Rest! I am miserable because this rash, which from here on out I am going to call 'PG', is invading my body (I will tell you about it in Part 3).

Week 37 (starts Sunday)-
We made it to the mark! I can have the baby any day now!! But unfortunately my contractions have slowed a lot! But my PG has not!!! I am up almost all the time crying and scratching myself to the point of bleeding!

Week 37 (Tuesday)-
2pm, visit the dermatologist. I have really not slept the last two nights. I can't even walk without making my legs rub together so they will scratch each other, if only scratching made it feel better for a little bit! I woke up this morning with PG all over my chest and just in the morning hours it has spread to my hands. Dr. P looks at me and says she thinks I have something called Pemphigoid Gestationis aka PG! She takes two skin samples for biopsy from my back (SO FUN!) then stitches me up, she says the results may not be back before I have the baby. She says at the rate it is spreading it is bad for me and can be dangerous for the baby! She says I should have him today! I told her my doctor is not in on Tuesdays, she said to call him first thing in the morning and schedule to be induced or if I want they have a Labor and Delivery downstairs if you wanna just go do it now. Yeah I was in a bit of shock by this point! I told i would call the doctor in the morning I wasn't quiet ready yet. She tells me we should run a blood test to see how my Liver is doing. She gives me a prescription for steroids, 50mg a day, and says she will call me with the lab results.
430pm- Dr. P calls me to tell me lab results are in and my Liver function is 2 times what it should be, so I also have Cholestais and that IS dangerous for the baby. I call up my friend Allie, who just found out she and kids have Strep. Allie is a nurse and tells me I should call the on call doctor and they can put me on the schedule for the next day. So I call the on call doctor and talk to her MA and give them the information and ask if I should be put on the schedule or wait to talk to my doctor. She says they will call me back.
630pm- Waiting in the parking lot while Trevor runs in to get my steroid prescription I get a call from the on call doctor. She says she talked to Dr. P and then called and talked to my OB and they have collectively agreed that I need to go to the hospital tonight!
930pm- I was able to have my sister come watch the kids, I have finally packed my hospital bag and we are off to have a baby.
