Valentines Day-By Trevor

~ Trevor
This year I was trying to decide what to get Chrystal for Valentines Day. I weighed the pros and cons of doing this, but finally resolved to tell Chrystal that she could choose her present this year and I would buy it. Of course the first thing she said is, "How much can I spend." I basically said if I like it more, if I don't less. Like it matters if I like it anyway right? :) I know. Either way, that was about 2 weeks before Valentines Day.

For the last two weeks or maybe more Chrystal has been hugely motivated to eat better and exercise and she has been trying to suck me in. At first I was just thinking that it would last about a week and then blow over. But nope. Every single night she would ask if I want to join her walking on the treadmill. It's funny, I can never motivate her when I am motivated. But she is relentless and never gives up on me. Finally Friday night I had a thought. I decided that if we had a second piece of equipment, so that we didn't have to take turns, then I would be more motivated to join her. So I decided if I could find something used on KSL for the amount of money that we were probably going to spend for presents and dinner, then I would offer to buy an elliptical so that we could work out side by side instead of her choosing her own present and her getting me one.

I'm told you don't buy exercise equipment for a woman for Valentines Day. But I think it worked well. We did find something on KSL and then Saturday night, Valentines Night, and yesterday we worked out together and watched TV. It was fun. And my wife was super happy that I joined her. I think I still got points this year, probably not for the present, probably because I was down there side by side with her.

And yes, it is usually like that, with one of us at least holding a child or baby while we work out.
