what is going on with my boys

These last few month has sparked a lot of change and growth in my boys. Joshua who at the beginning of the school year hated to write, has now found a deep seeded passion. As seen here, Josh who knows better, decided to take out his artistic ability on the nice cream colored canvas also known as the back seat of my car! Glad it came out! Josh has been drawing at any opportunity. From words to more commonly the first letter of each word in a sentence, apparently it takes up less room. I also had one of those moments the other day when I just felt so overwhelmed by the love I have for him. He thought up a story about super heroes, it was long with chapters so his Daddy Mikey wrote it all up. But Josh sure did make up the whole story and illustrate the chapters for you. He drew out each super hero. There was Lava Go, who is his friend Michaela, then Force Field Boy who is Josh. Evan, Patrick and Clara even had a super hero or bad guy character in this story. Seriously I felt overwhelmed while reading this story, just so much love and admiration for his creative little mind. Josh has always liked to take pictures, but now Patrick has decided that it is his favorite thing to do. Whenever the camera is not at reach he finds a way to get that camera and try to snap some shots. If those kid cameras weren't so expensive I would probably get him one for Christmas, seriously he is addicted. I love this picture of Patrick, mainly because Joshua took it!
In this not so great quality picture, you can see where Patrick puts his sun glasses when they are too big for his head! Patrick says quite often while in the car "mommy the sun is in my eyes", I then usually give him my glasses. Clara happened to be sitting next to him on this occasion, he turns and says to her, with the glasses on "the sun in my eye no more!" Patrick sure has learned recently how to express his thoughts more clearly, I love it! It came along with the drawing, Joshua has shown a great interest in mazes. So Trevor being the cool dad that he is, encourages this desire by creating a maze from the mass amount of leaves in our yard. The kids loved it!!
Speaking of leaves, this is not a very good picture but I wanted to post it so you can see the nightmare we deal with from having so many trees! Leaves, leaves, EVERYWHERE. We clean them up (mainly Trevor), and they just keep coming!!! Every week we fill up the garbage cans with these suckers. Filling up 30 gallon bags would just be more tedious. But the plus side to leaves is PLAYING IN THEM!
Look close at Patrick's face here...
