Doesn't matter that they are hacking their lungs out. In between the coughs they still enjoy playing Mario together, or any game for that matter. They play so well together, it makes me very happy.
My sister in law was in town visiting last little while. They don't let their kids play computer or watch tv. I do think that these things need to be in moderation. So I decided it is time to enforce tine limits. My kids own almost no toys because they don't play with them, the few we have are for the kids that come play here. Example: the two baby dolls we own, just perfect for visiting little girls. My boys like Wii, DS, computer games (both educational, video, and creative thinking). They also like to read. So yes I have computer nerds for children and I love it!
Last year a school worker told me that I shouldn't work on anything with Josh over the summer. Just let him play and have fun! This last parent teacher conference Josh was reading at a Y level! When I researched Y level it said books like The Diary of Anne Frank! In elementry school the reading levels are from A to Z. I read Diary of Anne Frank in 7th grade. Which brings me to the question... How many of you Utah people were suppose to read that in Junior High? My husband and brother have never heard of the book! They don't think it was part of the curriculum, now they grew up in Nevada and Washington. Feedback on this would be great.
So back where I started. I like watching people do good parenting and take what I can from it. I feel for my family I don't want all media gone. But I do think it needs to be more sparingly used. I love my kids! They are perfectly molded for me and my husband. I just adore them! Even when they are so sick that I haven't slept for 4 days. I am just glad they are so loving. I need to extra schmooze!
