spinning, spinning, spinning...

Just like the title says, I feel like this has been a summer of spinning! I think, things are starting to seem less crazy and blurred. Before you read on keep in mind that this will be a longer post, why? Because I don't feel like putting in too much effort right now, I am interested to see how many people read this post fully! So to start off the summer I am an avid HATER of hiking, decided I needed to try and have an attitude change, so I thought I will try to change that by planning a hike for every Saturday morning. The first hike, Doughnut Falls, the perfect hike for someone like me. The ONLY hike I did all summer (so glad I got over that every Saturday thing)... I am sure many of you may think I am stupid or crazy, but I am a sports girl, competitive elbow me in the nose painful kind of girl! Although I really don't like the elbow in the nose part, so lets just say I like to get in there, I like to play, it's great to win, and man I love basketball along with an array of other sports that some wonderful person invented!! Our group included Nate, Allie, their kids, my sister Jeni, Angie, and Clara, both my boys and me (Trevor was working). There came a point when we had to cross the Falls, the water was pretty crazy, so muscle man Nate ended carrying most of the kids, Jeni, and Angie across. Couldn't resist the photo opportunity. For some stupid reason I can't get this picture to flip...aaarrrr! Last week Trevor and I had the opportunity to celebrate our 3 years of marriage by taking the cheapest most blissful trip to Cancun, once I tell you about the rest of the summer you will see that we REALLY needed this getaway! We checked out Chitzin Itza, and swam in a beautiful sink hole, had a last min steal on a 4 star hotel on the beach, and really just had a great time reconnecting. Trevor's mom came and stayed with our kids and made it easy to relax, since it was the first time I had left Patrick, it was a good 5 days away.

This is the view from our rooms balcony. I will be posting more beautiful pictures from our trips and the full story on our travel page when I get a chance.

So my sister Jeni called me up in May and wanted to come stay with us for awhile, as you can tell in this picture she had someone else she brought with her. She is due in December and I don't know the sex for a couple of weeks. She just headed back to Arizona 2 weeks ago, a good summer getaway for her. During this time we also had the pleasure of having Callie, Mandee, and Tia come visit, and Nate and Allie in the process of transitioning from one home to the next stayed with us for 4 or 5 weeks. It's crazy but I was a little lonely when everyone left, I'm over it now though, I don't have anymore energy to entertain, I have been using all my energy on Migraines and throwing up lately. We had a great time at a family reunion for Trevor's family, where I took every opportunity to photograph, which when I am feeling better will finally send those out to everyone.
These next series of pictures are of a fun new game Patrick invented called "Patrick picks up a sleeping bag, throws it down the hill, and Trevor runs after it before it hits the water" This game went on for a long time. Don't forget that when daddy runs after one bag, Patrick can go grab another bag and prepare to throw it!

Along with summer comes a major box elder tree and bug problem in and outside of our home. Patrick finds them fun to play with! As you can see in this series of pictures where Patrick plays with one wherever it goes.

Joshua has really taken an interest in cooking creatively, as seen in this fruit roll up and cool whip sandwich, with an apple. My little 5 year old just started 1st grade yesterday too!!! The plan is try out first grade this week, do first grade in the morning and kindergarten in the afternoon next week. And either the end of next week or the week after, psychological testing and major decisions on what is the best fit for him. So far he loves 1st grade, but I think he really needs a good friend in that class.

Also just in my husband just sold his car for fun and the new one is yet to be determined.

But finally for all of you that stuck through this post the really cool thing that happened this summer is...(drum roll please)... I AM PREGNANT!!!!!!!! That's right just starting my 3rd month! And I have been sick sick sick, so if anyone wants to come help clean my house I'd love it! Cause it is messy messy messy! Seriously I am so ready to not be sick anymore, mainly not have a migraine!! Sorry for those who would have rather found out on the phone, but seriously it is a miracle that I have left the toilets side long enough to write this. According to my scale I have lost 4 pounds and the doctors office scale says I have lost 8! Just from throwing up. I just pray this baby comes out healthy cause I can't take prenatals either. Maybe in a month I will have a pregnancy glow instead of a throw up glow. Either way I am soooo excited! Due March 29Th, can tell you all what we are having in November! Also my Josh was awesome enough to keep it a secret for a month and a half! Well I think I must depart as eating something for the first time today sounds doable. Either way SO EXCITED!!

Congrats you guys! Have you been sick the whole time? (All summer?) I hope you feel better soon! You know, they say the sicker you are, the healthier your baby is. Glad you had a great summer....hope you have a less crazy fall. Can't wait to hear more!

YAY!!!!!!!!! SO jealous that you went to Cancun. Any advice? Brandon and I want to go there soon - I have never left my kids either, so it should be interesting. I am nursing and Kash is not even two months old, so it will be a while yet, but hopefully next year?? CONGRATS on the baby! Can't wait to hear what you are having. Your boys are so cute!

Sounds like you've had a good summer other than throwing up. Congrats on the baby that is very exciting, I was very sick with both of the girls but Ella was the worst I lost 10lbs those first 3 months. Good luck I hope you get feeling better soon.

I think it is funny that you were doing a test to see who reads your whole post because unless someone makes a comment then you wouldn't really know. Just so you know I usually read your posts even if I don't make a comment.
PS. Congrats on the Pregnancy

CONGRATU-Freakin-LATIONS! I'm so happy for you! LUCKY! Well...except for the throwing up part -- I'm glad I'm not there to witness it...yuck (sorry, I know you're suffering). How horrible! But, on the bright side, you're prego, your house is currently unoccupied by other family members, and your summer-time goal of going on a hike each week failed miserably. I love it!! I miss you.
