Yes it has been forever...

I thought an explanation was in order for why I have not written in 2 months. SO to summarize it neatly and in a manner that will keep me from the anxiety that comes with dwelling on it, I am going to make a nice little organized list. Which really is about the only thing organized right about now.

  • June 2-We write up an offer for the Duplex we now live in and own.

  • June & July- Major drama and problem after problem selling our house on Elizabeth St.

  • July 15, 16, 17-House finally sold, but not without having problem after problem with the buyer wanting us to bend over backwards for him.

  • July 15-We moved out of Elizabeth St.

  • July 16-We should own our Duplex now, but problem after problem, so we don't yet. Good thing we have great friends like Angie and Scott who let us live with them.

  • August 11-Should be able to finally purchase house, but problems with bank...

  • August 19-We should close today, but we don't!

  • August 21- I come to the dreadful conclusion that because of a balance transfer I did last week the bank isn't going to lend, even though we have 20% sitting in the bank waiting for them.

  • August 22-It all gets worked out, we OWN the house! How long has it been? 82 days since we put down an offer, 67 days since we have been living in Angie's basement, and the last 14 days spent wondering everyday if we would be getting this property.

  • During all this I still nannied other children, struggled with Josh's behavior immensely, and lived in boxes, first time that my anxiety was bad enough to get a prescription for.

Here is where things start to gradually look up...

  • Sept 4-we get Internet, didn't realize how dependant I am on it tell I went without it in what seemed like forever!

  • Angie, Scott, Nate, and Callie helped us with projects on our house and some moving.

  • Shout out to Angie who not only let us stay with her for 2 months... she helped us move out, painted 2 plus rooms in our house (very well I might add)(after she had worked that day), she helped with so many designing ideas, and so much more. I think she has officially moved up from very cool person that I didn't know very well. To very cool, close friend, that thinks more like I do then anyone else I have ever met, and that is very cool I think.

  • Josh has started preschool 5 days a week 3 hours a day. It is an early reading program...absolutely free! Needless to say his behavior has been superb lately!

  • Our tenants down stairs have given 30 days notice, so Sept. 28th, we will be looking for tenants that fit our expectations, it will be nice.

  • Patrick is speaking more and more to express his desires.

  • My anxiety has only been manifesting itself in small more manageable doses.

  • Our house is starting to look like a home!

So everything was crazy, I have my theories on why we needed to go through those experiences, I sure one is to prove our faith and trust in God, and a few others that I will just keep to myself. Whatever the reasoning it was a learning experience and I think we aren't much of anything if we aren't constantly learning and growing. Man has it made me grateful that we have this property now!

I'm so glad to hear that things are starting to look better for you guys. I'm so glad that you have some really good friends that were willing to let you stay with them for a while and that you still get along really well. We had our own experience letting friends live with us 4 years ago and our friendship hasn't quite been the same ever since. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
